Agave Syrup – mL to Grams (g) Converter

Agave Syrup: mL to Grams (g) Converter

Agave Syrup is heavier than water, so 1 mL does not simply equal 1 gram. This converter uses the real density of agave syrup (about 1.35 g per mL) to turn any volume you enter into an accurate weight - and lets you switch to any of our other 85 ingredients without leaving the page.

Densities are cross-checked against USDA FoodData Central and standard culinary references. Actual weight can vary slightly by brand, temperature and how an ingredient is packed.

Agave Syrup: mL in Grams (and Grams in mL)

Agave syrup is thicker than honey but still pours by the tablespoon, so most recipes measure it by volume. Once you try to weigh it, though, the numbers stop lining up with water. Here’s the fix: agave syrup has a density of about 1.35 g per mL, so it’s always heavier than the same amount of water.

    Quick Answer

    • 10 mL of agave syrup = 13.5 grams
    • 100 mL of agave syrup = 135 grams
    • 500 mL of agave syrup = 675 grams

    The Formula

To go from mL to grams, multiply by the density:

    Weight (g) = Volume (mL) × 1.35

So if a recipe calls for 30 mL of agave syrup and you only have a scale, pour out 40.5 grams and you’re set.

Grams to mL — Flip the Formula

If your recipe lists grams but you’re measuring with a spoon or jug, divide instead:

    Volume (mL) = Weight (g) ÷ 1.35

For example, 67.5 grams of agave syrup measures out to 50 mL. This comes up often with imported recipes that list ingredients by weight rather than volume.

    Why It’s Heavier Than Water

Agave syrup is mostly sugar with very little water left in it, which is exactly what makes it denser than plain water. The thicker and more concentrated a syrup is, the more it weighs for the same amount of space — that’s why honey, agave, and corn syrup all sit above the 1 g/mL mark while oils and milk sit closer to it or below.
